Ever catch yourself talking confidently about something you know nothing about?Instead of relying on your Charisma stat to carry you… maybe you could have prepped with a bit more Intelligence training.

But before you can train a stat, you have to define it — and assess where you stand.

In Roll for Change, Intelligence is how you gather, process, and apply information.It’s not just about “being smart” — it’s about how you learn best, and how you use what you learn.

The Intelligence stat breaks down into:

1. Knowledge – the facts and info you collect

2. Logic – how you analyze and connect those facts

What This Looks Like In Real Life

A few months ago, I discovered a band called The Native Howl — a fusion of thrash metal and bluegrass. It changed everything.

As a longtime metalhead, I wasn’t prepared to fall in love with the banjo. But I did. And soon, I was deep in YouTube tutorials, books, finger picks, and banjo nerd culture.

But real progress didn’t happen until I paused, assessed what I’d learned, and built a strategy.

I combined my ADHD-fueled hyperfocus with what I knew about practice, neuroplasticity, and recovery. I wasn’t just trying things — I was learning with intention.

This was before I created Roll for Change, but it’s the same principle:

• Gather info

• Synthesize it

Quest complete. Next quest? Learn another song.Side quest? “Play banjo during every commercial break this week. ”That’s basically “Bring me 10 herbs,” but for personal growth.

What Intelligence Isn’t

Intelligence isn’t “Are you smart or dumb?” It’s: How do you learn best? What formats stick with you?

I’m a reader — words hit hard for me. Someone else might learn best through audio, visuals, or hands-on experience.

Knowing your own learning style is the most intelligent thing you can do.
